Award-winning gospel musician and Pastor Emmy Kosgei is celebrating her 39th birthday today. The celebrated artiste born in Rift Valley province hailed from a staunch Christian family with a Bishop as a Father and strong mother.
The beauty maintains a very low profile on her personal life and rarely shows off birthday parties. Last year however, she threw her Nigerian hubby a surprise party at their house. Their birthdays are only 3 days apart and we canβt wait to see what she does this year.
Here is the sweet message she wrote herself celebrating her big day. She thanked all her family members and mostly God for this far she has come. She is just a year away from joining the fourth floor and God truly has been with her.

Popular Gospel DJ Samuel Muraya, Alias DJ Mo is once again entangled in an infidelity and deadbeat dad scandal after a woman outed him on social media.
The DJ has in the past been embroiled in cheating scandals on his wife and fellow gospel Artiste Size 8 but somehow always comes out the other side unscathed. This time however, that doesn’t seem like a likelihood.
The first time a scandal of this magnitude happened to him was after curvaceous DJ Pierra Makena gave birth to her daughter who bore un undeniable resemblance to DJ Mo. The two eventually denied the rumors with Pierra revealing he wasn’t the dad.
Just earlier this year, cheating rumors were brewing of the Gospel DJ which he and his wife aggressively denied. Well, the truth always outs.
Just today, a woman by the name Carol Nduta has come out with a picture of her twin daughters who bear an uncanny resemblance to DJ Mo and his daughter with Size 8 Ladasha Belle. She revealed that he neglected her children but through God’s grace they have grown and survived this far.
The leakage of this news has lit up the internet all day as many are rebuking the pretentious Gospel community in Kenya. While we wait for DJ Mo’s statement on the matter, check out netizens reactions below:

Celebrated Bongo artist Rayvanny has come out to expose Kenyaβs top Artist for his malicious attempt at getting Rayvanny to withdraw his offer of collaborating with Mihadarati crooner Stivo Simple Boy.
Stevo has been making headlines after his song warning the youth against drug use went viral. The viral song has earned him much support across the country, with everyone begging for a collaboration and his latest meeting with NACADA boss.
Among those looking for the star include Rayvanny who announced a day ago in this post:
The post has since gone viral but it seems some people are not happy to see others prosper. Rayvanny has angrily come out to expose the rot in a beloved top Kenyan Artist who advised him against doing the collaboration. Rayvanny was shocked at how Kenyans donβt support each other and always want to bring each other down.
The incognito artist apparently said that such a collaboration will bring down Rayvannyβs name and brand.

He didnβt expose the artist but warned him that if he continues trying to rally against Stivo, Kenyans will surely know who he is in the next post.

While we donβt know who it is yet, it is public knowledge that Rayvanny has collaborated with only four Kenyan artists including Willy Paul, Nai Boi, Bahati and Khaligraph. Could it be any of those? And the screenshots show that the two are close as the artist refers to Rayvanny as bro. Who else do you know who likes using bro?
Many netizens in the comment section seem to be convinced that it is Bahati while others say its Willy Paul. The verdict is still out on his identity but check out netizens reactions below:

Love is a fundamental human need. We all crave for it. In Kenya however, it has been listed on the 1000 ways to die for many young women.
Most people meet their significant others through their social circles or work/school functions. However, these pools can be relatively shallow. In the search for a potential date, more and more people are switching to less traditional methods.
Online dating has become peopleβs go-to, raising its popularity through the years. The popularity of online dating is being driven by several things, but a major factor is time. Online dating presents an effective solution to a serious problem. Browsing profiles isnβt nearly as time-consuming (or daunting) as mixing with people in a social context.
When people turn to online dating apps, they hope to make a connection, not end up as a victim. But authorities warn that as online dating sites grow in popularity, so do the risks.
Violence stemming from online dating apps has been on the rise globally and in the country. The most recent victim was the beauty queen Murangβa prison warder Pauline Wangari whose body was found bloodied, stabbed and naked in her house. Her assailant you ask? A first date from Facebook.
The suspect, Joseph Ochieng told the DCI officers in Murangβa that the murder occurred after the two met for the first time. He noted that they had known each other on Facebook for a while before they decided to meet.
The suspect is reported to have strangled Wangari after which she fell down and he thought he had killed her.
Sent into panic mode following the development, the suspect said he reached for a kitchen knife and stabbed her in the chest, neck and abdomen, and, thereafter, put the knife firmly in her grip in a bid to make it look like Wangari had killed herself.
As investigations continue, it is important for people to note that this case is not unique. Many have found themselves in such situations.
As we embrace technology, it is important to exercise caution while navigating through online dating.
People lie on their online dating profiles. Women mostly lie about their age while men lie about financial stability. They are all equally prone to βcatfishingβ which refers to using photos of other more attractive people who arenβt them.
One of the big problems with online dating for women is that, although there are genuine relationship-seeking men on the sites, there are also plenty of guys on there simply looking for sex. While most people would agree that on average men are more eager for sex than women, it seems that many men make the assumption that if a woman has an online dating presence, sheβs interested in sleeping with relative strangers.
Online dating does represent the convenience of being able to meet others that you possibly never would have otherwise, but women should be aware that they probably will receive rude/disgusting messages from horny guys, sexual propositions/requests, dick pics, and a lot of creepy vibes.
In Paulineβs case, they went straight home on their first meeting. This should be avoided if possible. because for starters this is a complete stranger. People can be manipulative and tell you the truth that is acceptable, but you donβt know what demons lurk in their closets.
Always think twice and observe any warning signs. If you do go on a date, itβs important to keep a close eye on your drink and food. We have heard so many stories of women getting date raped and βruffiedβ (where your food/drink is spiked or drugged). Never give out information relating to your bank account or Mpesa pin and balance.
If you can, always strive to pay half the bill. We all know there are people out there who believe thatΒ if they pay something for you, you have to pay it back in other ways.
Everyone is on Instagram more times in a day than they would like to admit. The social media platform has given millions of people a great avenue to express themselves in pictures, with many becoming overnight sensations and celebrities through there.
In the last few years, Instagram has been rolling out new and exciting changes to their platform. In June 2018, Instagram users were introduced to IGTV (Instagramβs version of social television where users can upload and share 1-hour videos.)
As of August, profile verification isnβt just reserved for brands, celebrities, and public figures only. Now, anyone can request to get the blue βverifiedβ badge next to their name, but the process still isnβt that easy. We have seen NRG Radio host Kamene Goro be the most recent celebrity to finally get verified and how much she celebrated for it.
Many of us would like to get verified as well so hereβs everything you need to know about the blue tick/badge. Let us walk you through the process of getting verified on Instagram as well as the benefits that the blue badge brings.
Before We Begin
The verification process consists of different steps. Itβs essential to provide your proof of identity on a few social media platforms. If you already have a verified Facebook, then youβll easily verify your Instagram as well. Another way to do it is to increase the number of your Instagram followers because that tells Instagram that youβre a real person.
Get Verified on Instagram
Open the Instagram app on your phone and go to Settings
Scroll the menu down and tap Request Verification
Add your full name, account name, and a photo of your ID (if you want to verify your personal account) or a business/legal ID (if youβre proving a Business account)
Tap Send
Once your application has been reviewed (youβll have to wait a bit), you will be notified if your request is approved or denied. Right now, Instagram verification is in high demand so not every account will get verified, so the designation doesnβt lose on its value. If your account meets all the qualification, Instagram will give the blue badge.
What is the Criteria?
Follow Instagramβs Community Guidelines and Terms of Service.
Authentic. You have to prove that youβre a real person, registered business, or brand. In other words, be who you say you are.
Public. Make your account public and viewable to everyone.
Complete. Fill up your Bio section, add a profile photo, and upload at least one post.
Unique. With exceptions to language-specific accounts, only one account per business/person may be verified. Also, Instagram doesnβt verify general interest accounts (such as those that aggregate funny memes or pictures of pets).
Notable. When it reviews your application, Instagram will look at whether youβre featured in multiple news sources and whether your name is searched for.
Benefits of Having a Verified Instagram Account
When people see the blue badge beside a name, they tend to trust it more. It means that Instagram perceived your account as an authentic account with an organic following, which allows people to find those they want to follow and avoid imposters.
Having a blue badge makes an account look exclusive because not everybody can get verified. It adds more power to the brand value, making you feel more confident to share content through your account. People will trust you more, and you can leverage that to include an influencer or two to promote your brand.
Another significant advantage of having your account verified is to prove that itβs the only official one, which significantly helps to fight out identity theft. Countless fake accounts impersonate great businesses, public figures, and celebrities. You donβt want people to mistake a phony account for your real one, and perhaps get a wrong impression of you.
If I Canβt Get Verified, What Can I Do About It?
You need to do everything you can to prove the authenticity of your Instagram account.
Share your account in other communication channels. When sending out newsletters or emails, add your Instagram account in the signature. Embed it in your blog posts as well as your business cards, product packaging, and signage at a store or event.
Add a link to your website on your Instagram profile. Be sure to add the link to your site, but not a connection to another social network, because Instagram doesnβt tolerate that.
Promote your account on other social media profiles and your website. It will clear up the confusion about which account is your official one as well as help a broader audience to find you on Instagram. Include a link to your Insta account on your website, other social media profiles and pages, and any other online profiles.
Write a good Bio and keep a consistent brand aesthetic. A strong Instagram Bio must convey personality, show what you do and who you are, include a compelling CTA and relevant keywords. As for the brand aesthetic, establish a consistent Instagram look by using the same filter for all your posts. It will tell your audience that your account is real and legit.
When youβve done everything, go and resubmit your request for verification. If you stuck to a good Instagram strategy and managed to build a dedicated following, you will get your account verified. As a team of experienced social media management professionals, Strong Social can help you improve your social media presence.
The Kenyan music scene has grown immensely and every day new artists are introduced making it very competitive. It is however better paying today with higher chances of success than it was before with increased social media usage. The competition is high today making many work harder. The more consistent one is with hot releases, the higher the chance they have to make it.
This week we have a couple of new songs that hit the streets and Kenyans are happy. From Gospel to secular, Artists have stepped up their game and aligned to the Kenyan market needs.
Check out this week’s hottest tracks, featuring some new-comers along the way.
Ochunglo Family- Kaa na Mamayako
Ochunglo is blowing up the clubs in Kenya with their hot party anthems that have everyone dancing. This new song is no exception and to add to it’s hype, they have incorporated the words ‘KAA NA MAMAYAKO’, a Kenyan slang stated by the widely celebrated West Pokot Governor Prof. John Lonyangapuo
2. Ethic & Otile Brown – Dala Dala
Ethic is taking over the music scene in Kenya and every artist wants to jump on the hype, Otile being no exception. Their new song doesn’t disappoint despite the two having completely different sounds. They mesh perfectly for this new one.
3. Octopizzo – Stay
Namba Nane’s finest and Kenya’s word-play King is back with a different beat. Unlike most of his songs, this is a slow one tugging at one’s heartstrings.
4. Mbithi feat. Cheruto – Boy
Kamba boy Mbithi is back with another hit alongside songbird Cheruto and it’s a banger.
5. Wakadinali – Morio Anzenza ft Dyana Cods
6. Willy Paul feat Alaine – Shado Mado
Willy Paul and Alaine are back with a banger. During an interview today, Willy Paul revealed that they recorded this song years ago. He publicized it by faking that Alaine had blocked him all over social media.
7. Moon- Simple gyal
8. Guardian Angel – Kuongozwa
This gospel hit is already trending in the country, barely a week after its release.
This yearβs Fatherβs Day has come and gone, but we continue to celebrate our fathers and father figures every day for their strength and provision. Local Kenyan celebrities werenβt left behind on wishing their partners and fathers a happy fatherβs day on Sunday 16th June 2019.
Fatherβs Day is a celebration of fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence fathers have in society. From Bahati to DJ Mo, here are some of the sweetest messages left for dads online:
Popular Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi has broken Kenyans ribs on his way to stardom. He is now a global superstar making people laugh all over the world.
Very few people, however, know about the funny manβs past religious life. A little known fact about Omondi is that just like Kenyaβs Deputy President William Ruto, the funnyman was a senior leader at Christian Union. The deeply religious Ruto was chairman of the University Christian Union choir and later patron of the Christian Union at a high school he taught briefly.
Eric was a fellowship vice chairman while at Daystar University back in 2006. He later started his comic career in 2007 from Churchill show where heβs grown to be a global sensation.
Posting on his Instagram page a throwback picture of his religious youthful days, together with his team back in the day.
Religion in Kenya, specifically Christianity in the music scene has completely taken a different turn as it is plagued with scandals of ungodly nature.
From the scandal of Hopekid and Dk Kwenye beat where they allegedly raped a girl and infected her with herpes, to Willy Paulβs raunchy performances with Nandy for their new βHallelujahβ song.
The most recent scandal that happened involved beloved gospel artist Mr Seed who reportedly cheated on his wife and mother of one Nimo Gachuiri in their home while she was away.
The girl claimed that she did not want to engage in sex but he insisted. Voice notes of his best friend telling her to keep the situation quiet surfaced and made rounds on social mediaΒ .
The gospel industry has left people questioning what is the way forward as the ones to guide and influence are just as bad as unbaptized folk, if not worse.
